Did you know that with a dog GPS like
Kippy, you will never have to look for your dog anymore? Too much often we find ourselves writing missing dog ads, also on social
networking pages, or leaflets to put along
the roads. When you lose your four-legged friend, in fact, you would really do
anything to find it, even offer a reward for it in return. Here are some
suggestions to increase the chances of finding your lost dog, if you haven’t
got yourself a GPS for animals.
Situations can be
many. From the dog who can pull out the collar, fleeing far away from the
owner, to the one who finds the open door and goes away without being seen. For
this reason, time may be relative when it comes to losing a pet, considering
that sometimes the owner may notice the incident several hours later, when the
dog does not go to him/her to get out.
As for the dog
situation that moves away from the owner, we can intervene in a timely manner
to limit the escape and try to catch our four-legged friend.
We have to not run
after it. Very often animals tend to run even faster if they feel chased,
taking this episode as a "funny prank", although it is not reallt
funny for the owner.
If we have taught
the dog the command "come" or "remain", after several
minutes it may decide to listen to us, rather than its irrepressible desire for
freedom. So let's stay calm, do not run behind it and call it by name, using
one of these two commands.
Using food as a
reward could be a very good solution, so let's understand that we have a tasty
snack between our hands, which we will only give it once it's back.
It is forbidden to
scream and get angry, otherwise we risk scaring the dog to such a degree as to
prevent him from approaching, fearing receiving a good reproach.
We have to remain
calm and positive, pretending a happiness that we certainly do not feel at that
moment. The recall will not work if we are not convincing, so let us strike
smiles and enthusiasm, lowering ourselves on our knees as if we wanted to play
with it.
Just when we are
sure we can catch it, calmly put the collar on the dog, unless it's scared or
aggressive.
After several hours or days
If we have not been
able to resume our four-legged friend, but we know for sure where he is, we
might need more help. Did it get caught somewhere from where it could not get
back anymore, was he injured? We should call the firefighters or our
veterinarian, who could provide first aid if needed.
On the contrary, if
we do not have any idea of where our dog is, there's nothing left to do but
going around the neighborhood, continuing to call it uninterruptedly. Once we
have perfectly controlled the adjacent areas to the point of departure or our
home, we should broaden the search range more and more, maybe involving relatives
and friends too.
Still nothing?
Well, it's time to spread your voice. Let's get some of our friend's recent
photographs, where you can see details, such as eye color, facial shape, body
shape, and any special signs.
The photo will be
used to write an advertisement to print and spread on the street or in animal
shops, and also on social networks.
But you can avoid
going through this ordeal if you buy a dog tracker now: with Kippy you can track
your dog’s position from your
smartphone.
Thanks a lot for sharing a very good content!
